The Bungendore Show is New South Wales’ premier one-day Country Show. It was founded in 1879 and has been running continuously since 1962, following a recess during WWII and the subsequent post-war years. 2019 will mark 140 years of the Show in the community.
The Show is Bungendore’s key summer event and attracts patrons from all across the NSW region and the ACT. They offer a full complement of country show competition sections in all traditional areas – showcasing and celebrating the finest talent, animals, produce, businesses and services in the region.
Adults and children will be transported back to the country shows of the past with a tug of war competition, a pet parade, children’s novelty events and the dog high jump and flat chat race.
Crowds will cruise Side Show Alley where they can pat Angus from Heavy Horse Heaven, cuddle a baby goat, and see award-winning horses, sheep and cattle whilst enjoying the largest dachshund event in the Southern Hemisphere, the multi award-winning Werriwa Wiener Dash.
Thousands will watch amazing show jumping, plus fast and furious horse sporting events including riders from the NSW Mounted Games Association.
