Anyone who keeps chickens or other poultry has experienced the issue of an injured bird or sick bird. Taking your bird to the vet is not always an option. This can be due to financial constraints or because not many vets are ready or trained to treat birds.
So what do you do if you can’t go to you vet ? Doing this short course helps you recognise and treat common injuries and illnesses experienced by chickens (and occasionally ducks, geese and turkeys) so your bird has the best chance of a productive recovery.
More importantly, the workshop helps you approach the “triage” of your injured or ill bird, deciding when you should treat, go to the vet regardless, or humanely dispatch your bird.
The workshop has been designed in consultation with a qualified veterinarian experienced in avian health.
