This exhibition of new works by Harriet Schwarzrock returns to themes of interconnection, the experience of the body, and how you relate to others. Predominantly working with translucent glass this work gives subtle form to the intangible and brings an awareness of the present moment, through this seemingly elusive and luminous material. Neon and plasma provide an opportunity to experiment with distorted filaments of light.
Harriet Schwarzrock was the recipient of the 2018 Asia Link residency between the Canberra Glassworks and Toyama Glass Studio. This year she has been awarded the Stephen Procter Fellowship through the ANU, which will involve five weeks travel and a residency at the ANU to learn more about plasma.
