This presentation is a medley of the interesting, curious and obscure aspects of the mapping of the ACT and Region. It will cover little known events in the formation, survey and development of the ACT showing how they have been represented on maps. The maps concerned span the period from Robert Dixon in the 1820s through Charles Scrivener in 1909 -1915 and down to modern times. The curious details and stories behind the maps will deepen your appreciation of Canberra’s history, border and city design.
