The Bungendore Harvest Festival is an annual celebration of the integrity and freshness of the region’s local produce, cold climate food, drink and fibre. It explores and promotes how produce is grown in this region, where it is grown, where consumers may access it, how to prepare it, use it, eat it and drink it. The Festival occurs across a weekend to encourage overnight visitors to the region.
Starting FRIDAY evening, and continuing throughout the weekend, local food venues are encouraged to showcase locally sourced food and drinks on their menus for the enjoyment of locals and visitors alike. There will be a dinner event at one of Bungendore’s many eating establishments on the Friday night to launch the Festival.
On the SATURDAY, from 10am-2pm the Bungendore Farmers Market will host a special festival market with heaps of stalls, talks, demonstrations, short courses and festive activities.
SUNDAY will give visitors the chance to explore further afield and recognise Bungendore as a regional food destination. Visitors can participate in farm and winery tours, sample the freshest and finest local food, and attend half day courses focused on farming, producing, making and creating. Southern Harvest will also be holding our Harvest (Against All the Odds) Long Lunch fundraising event, and will be organising virtual as well as physical farm tours and workshops.
