This is the 22nd exhibition by AIM since its inception in 2001. The exhibition, Art in Miniature, will be held at Studio Altenburg and features 18 of the group’s 20 member artists.
The works depict local surroundings, being close to home, and more intimate places like kitchen benches, children at play, the beauty of flora and fauna and the inner imagination. These jewel like artworks invite the viewer for a closer look to appreciate the level of detail that comprise each artwork.
As a group AIM endeavours to create miniature artworks of the type that that have existed since the eighth century. AIM’s membership is capped at 20 of which 12 are original members, this allows the group to maintain the friendship aspect of the group. Being a friendship allows personal interpretations of what a miniature entails. Miniature artworks are highly collectible.
