About this event

All roads will lead to the village of Bungendore on Saturday May 15th for a celebration of local musical talent with the BANG the ‘Dore event.

Across the village in the morning, a variety of musical focused buskers of all ages will perform in different locations with the hope of securing one of the many prizes on offer. The buskers will be judged across eight categories with one being a people’s choice award voted online. All winners will be announced on the main stage later in the afternoon, along with performances of emerging talent from across the Queanbeyan Palerang area.

The afternoon headliner acts are an eclectic bunch of emerging musicians from Braidwood, Bungendore and Queanbeyan. The afternoon kicks off at 1.30pm at the main stage in Gibraltar St. Singer-songwriter Lily Morris and her band from Braidwood will get things started, followed by Bungendore hip-hop artist Context featuring Jimmy Pike and DJ Chemi-Cal. To round out the afternoon, Queanbeyan artist, Jerikye Williams will perform a rousing set with a nod to the greats, The Big O, Johnny Cash and Elvis going through to around 5pm.

The village will be buzzing all day with footpath trading and special offers including food options from the cafes and restaurants across the village.

Ellendon St will come alive with a variety of vendors and their music inspired wares from 9.30am, including Championship Vinyl’s second hand vinyl, CD’s and cassettes, Vintage T-shirts and posters; Resin Doll Accessories’ retro inspired accessories; Bungendore Guitars & amps; The Queanbeyan Hive; Anglican Church Op-Shop offering a Street Library and music collectables as well as a chill out area; Rock Star Dress Up; Sara’s Music T-Shirts; and Bungendore Rotary sausage sizzle.

Meanwhile, on Gibraltar St, the kids can go crazy in The Courtyard from 10am with music inspired craft.

The road area in front of the Lake George Hotel will be closed to traffic from 11.30 in preparation for the main stage area to kick off at 1.30pm. Bungendore Scouts and their portable fridge with a selection of drinks and ice creams will be available in the afternoon, and the bottle shop will have local vineyard wine tasting under the veranda.

Stay tuned for more information to follow in the coming weeks.

It’s up to you! To catch our wonderful buskers, arrive any time from 9:30am to soak up the music and enjoy Bungendore’s Saturday morning retail and hospitality offers. The main stage gig will start at 1:30pm featuring LILY MORRIS, CONTEXT FEAT. JIMMY PIKE & CHEMI-CAL and JERIKYE WILLIAMS and will finish up at 5pm.

Whilst the activities and entertainment will be suitable for all ages, it will be a long day so families with little ones may prefer to just attend a short portion of the event alongside enjoying other local offers.

There is plenty of free on-street parking across the village. If you’re able to park further out from the centre please do, so that less mobile visitors can park close by. We recommend parking on Gibraltar, Ellendon and Butmaroo Streets. Please be aware that the area immediately in front of the Lake George Hotel will be closed to all cars from 11:30am.

No, but we will require all those taking part in the event to ‘check in’ on the Service NSW app as part of our Covid-Safe plan.
